Research archivist Sverker Hyltén-Cavallius is an associate professor of ethnology at Stockholm University and has previously worked as senior lecturer and researcher at Stockholm University and the University of Gothenburg.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

In his research, Hylt\u00e9n-Cavallius has mainly focused on issues of music, generation and representations of history on the one hand, and popular culture, storytelling and social media on the other. The thesis Minnets spelrum (A Margin for Memory, 2006) examines formations of pensionerhood in different music contexts, and in Retrologier (Retrologies, 2014) examines how different pasts are shaped and negotiated in networks around rock music from the 1970s.<\/p>\n<\/external-link-icon><\/div>\n\n

From 2017 to 2020 Hylt\u00e9n-Cavallius led the research project Kreativa f\u00f6rflyttningar (Creative transitions) at Musikverket (presented in the anthology of the same name, see below), and in 2019-2021 he was part of the research project Classical music for a mediatized world together with researchers at the University of Gothenburg and Stockholm University.<\/p>\n<\/external-link-icon><\/div>\n\n

Hylt\u00e9n-Cavallius is chair of the Swedish national committee of the ICTM (International Council for Traditional Music).<\/p>\n<\/external-link-icon><\/div>\n\n
