How to donate
Do you want to donate items related to the The Centre for Swedish Folk Music and Jazz Research’sareas of interest that you believe should be preserved for the future? Contact us, and we will assess their relevance to our collections.
We primarily accept original documents such as manuscripts, recordings, and photographs, but we may also be interested in published sheet music, books, and records.
When contacting us about a donation, please provide:
- A detailed description of the material: type, content, and scope (including images, if possible).
- Ownership and copyright information.
- For digital materials: data size and file format.
Once we agree on the donation, we will draft a donation agreement to be signed by both parties. Please note that we do not accept deposits.

Donations to other departments within Statens Musikverk
Are you unsure whether your donation should go to The Centre for Swedish Folk Music and Jazz Research? The Centrea part of Statens Musikverk which includes other departments that also accept donations.
The Music and Theatre Library of Sweden accepts materials related to individuals and organizations within music, theatre, dance, and other performing arts. Examples of accepted materials include sheet music, recordings, scripts, letters, documents, photographs, set design models, and musical instruments. The Swedish Museum of Performing Arts collects materials related to theatre, music, and dance in Sweden. Examples of items we accept include stage costumes, sketches, musical instruments, photographs, scripts, and recordings. Donations can include physical as well as digital materials.
